about me; mama bee

thanks for buzzing in to the bee brood blog! i am sara, aka mama bee. i have been married to papa bee since [2007] but we have been together since 2002. we were both born and raised in a small-ish town in the mitten and have set up in a cozy home near the capital with our 2 pups.

in 2007, we welcomed d, baby bee to our brood. d was born 16 weeks early, and 24 weeks and 3 days. baby d weighed a little more than a sack of sugar, and spent over 4 months is hospitals all over the mitten. he has had over 10 surgeries in his lifetime, with many more on the agenda to come. overall d is doing amazing, and has grown so big and strong. he is very witty and super smart, constantly defying all the statistics about micro-preemies.

d is what they refer to as "low vision", although most of the time i refer to it as VI, or visually impaired. he has somewhat full vision in one eye (l) and only light, strong color/shape definition in the other (r). this was caused by what they call ROP or retinopathy of prematurity. to hear more about micro-preemies, nicu life and baby d, check out the "d's story page".

i also blog about my weight loss adventures and what a b!tch they can be. i have recently been diagnosed ( a little bit by self, a little bit by a nutritionist) as an obsessive compulsive eater, mostly with binge tendencies and am battling a food addiction. i am straddling the fine line of both accepting these addictions and what that means for my battle, and being in total denial. to check out my journey, see the "weight loss" page.

overall I'm just your average working mama, trying to find a balance in life and weight. i love to write even though i don't always know what to say. i am addicted to sons of anarchy. i love chocolate, and i hate celery.i like to lift, but i don't love it i love lists, but i am awful about finishing them [and everything else, except dessert]. i am always late. i swear. i cannot spell. i like to run, but i don't love it. .

thanks again so much for stopping by, and i hope you will stay awhile!

Found your blog today thanks to Hubby Jack, lol. I have never been diagnosed but I am most definitely a compulsive eater as well! and DEFINITELY binge constantly. I started WW a week ago, and I am doing ok. But it's a constant battle!
